Welcome

Dorset Rough Riders are an offroad cycle club based around the Bournemouth/Poole area. We welcome riders of all ages and abilities and offer a varied selection of rides throughout the week. Details of all our rides can be found in the ride calendar.
The emphasis of the club is on social cross-country riding but many club members are involved in local and national racing and we also participate in many of the off road events that take place throughout the year all over the country.
We have an active social calendar and our members also have the benefit of 10% discount on parts and accessories at all our local partner shops.
Non-members are welcome to come along to try any of our rides to get a feel for the club. Just contact the ride leader beforehand to let them know you are coming.

DRR's Big Weekend Bash

This year’s big weekend will take place on the 18/19 of July at Woodyhide campsite just outside Corfe. We will have rides easy, medium on the Saturday followed by a BBQ in the evening. Camping is £5.00 per person. I have provisionally booked some spaces for the Rough Riders. If you are interested please let me know, either by mail or my give me a call on 078 2525 3144 after 5.00 pm.

New Forest Cyclosportive Sun Aug 23

The Rattler is a new Cyclosportive located in the New Forest National Park. You can choose from one of two routes depending on what sort of challenge you are looking for – a shorter route of 47 miles or a more demanding 78 mile course.Each route entails great cycling terrain. There are sweeping flat sections that in the right weather conditions enable great speed, but in the wrong conditions these exposed sections become hellish and can be a real test! There are some punchy hills on our routes too, including the famous 25% ‘wall’ called Blissford Hill!Each of our routes take in the spectacular scenery that the New Forest has to offer. You will encounter ancient Redwoods when passing through Ornamental Drive, wild animals grazing at the roadside and picturesque villages and hamlets.50% of the profit made from this event will go to our chosen charity, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. British Pedal Car GP New Milton

It's that time of year again! Sunday 12th July is the date of this years British Pedal Car GP at New Milton. The club has entered 2 cars this year, so we are looking for 8 drivers. For a mere £10 you can show Jenson Button how it's done in the 2 hour race. If you haven't seen or raced in this event before you should give it a go. The centre of New Milton will be closed off & there is always a big crowd & a packed field, last year we had Channel 5 covering the event & interviewing DRR's top drivers. There will be up to 50 cars in the race so it should be great!It's one of those events that once you have a go you'll want to come back & do it again, so get your name down fast! TeamDRR 2009

2009 brings to us a new race season and a new TeamDRR team will be there to encourage riders to get out and have a go. The TeamDRR team are: Rob Koppenhol and Steve Gordon, working as a joint effort with assistance from Davey Goddard. Event list, scoring and results, can be found here and from the main menu above.

We've got long sleeved ones too this year, I've got a couple of pre-orders to sort out and then I'll publicise it further. Let me know if you're urgent for one and I'll see what I can do. Bear in mind that expanding into the long sleeved market means that I've had to reduce the range of sizes somewhat.

Improvements over last year seem to be limited to the MTB top which gets a glasses wipe (!?) and a media port (I think that means its got a hole in it!) as well as the zipped rear pocket it had previously.

All the kit is now branded as Endura rather than the obscure TAL logo they have had on for many years, I guess some would consider that an improvement too!
