saturday ride, 6th feb.

Ever so slightly muddy. Or more like "muddy hell, it's a bit slippery!"

8 slightly unhinged rider turned out for a 50/50 ride/push from ferndown out to horton tower.

started off with a few puddles heading out toward holt heath from ferndown forest golf club along a bit of the castleman trailway, then along some more puddle-ey singletrack. (managed to hit my MAX heart rate within the first mile :| ) but got everyone breathing a little and the legs warmed up!

then over white sheet to holt heath and a little stiff climb and EVERYONE was now breathing!

down the hill to paradise road and back into holt heath only to find the first of the gloop. across the road into the woods and the really muddy stuff started. Time to check the GPS th make sure we were on the right route and the (now infamous) comment of "do they take AA batteries?" hit home as the aforementioned GPS device flaked out due to.... dead batteries! so after about 20 mins of slogging through it a group decision was taken to stop for coffee!

Nice little break in the woods for a flask of something hot and a little rest then more gloop!

eventually got to the path leading up to horton tower and all the tired legs said "oh look, a tower. Which way home??" so a slight detour through queens copse and dave the b decided that it was time for anouth "rest" to replace his now non existand brake pads.

Pop out onto horton road and back through paradise road and back to white sheet with the old game of splash each othere through the puddles.

One last hill and back to the top of white sheet and on the last down before the finish.

We'll not mention my small off trying to bunnyhop a puddle at this point....

Thanks for all who came out and tim, keep plugging away the fitness will come!!

Awesome ride, fun had by all I think. There was hardly any mud

Got home and noticed there was nothing left of one of my rear brake pads. Strange really as I thought it was the front brake that wasn't work so well.
