The creation of this ‘team’ is to encourage the participation of Dorset Rough Rider Members in the multitude of mountain bike events available locally and around the country. Although many members have been entering these events in the past, this new concept is to enter them with other members and ensure a real concerted club presence and team spirit. By being a club member you are automatically part of this.

We expect to then share information and hopefully assist members new and experienced to these types of event both in completing the event itself and any advice in training, bike preparation in the lead up. Hopefully we will be at all these events in some way and there maybe the possibility of sharing transport and accommodation. If you are interested in entering these events, whether new to them or not, then this is for you.

To make things even more interesting we have also added a competition. Although it is not compulsory to take part with us if you do want to take part you do have to register on rides@dorsetroughriders.co.uk. Or, by phone on 07887 535613. Again, don’t worry if you are not interested in the competition itself but want to be part of the team, just let me know. Each member will have to pay the entry fee for each event themselves.

The rules for the competition are as follows. Please bear in mind the prizes will not be massive and the competition really is only just for fun. Participation, encouragement and mostly enjoyment for yourself and other members are the most important purposes of the team and competition. If you have to argue with any awards or decisions of the committee you have missed the point!
